Longbow Advantage
Warehouse analytics and labor management platform
Longbow Advantage provides warehouse analytics and labor management that sit on top of existing WMS platforms, providing the operational visibility that most WMS systems lack. Their Rebus platform aggregates data from WMS, time clocks, and other systems into a unified analytics layer.
SAP EWM users needing purpose-built analytics, labor management, and operational visibility on top of their existing WMS
Operations not running SAP EWM — deeply integrated with SAP and not platform-agnostic
Strengths
- Purpose-built for SAP EWM — no risky middleware or translation layer
- Rebus analytics platform gives real-time operational visibility that SAP alone lacks
- Strong labor management and productivity benchmarking for SAP shops
- Faster time to value than building custom SAP reporting and analytics
Weaknesses
- SAP-only — not applicable if you run Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or another WMS
- Adds cost on top of existing SAP licensing and maintenance spend
- Scope limited to analytics and LMS — not a WMS replacement or extension
Practitioner analysis
Longbow's Rebus platform is the most-deployed operational analytics overlay for SAP EWM customers. The platform fills the operational visibility gap SAP EWM has — real-time dashboards, labor productivity, and analytics that SAP doesn't natively provide well. Implementation is fast (8–12 weeks) because Longbow has done dozens of SAP EWM integrations.
Rebus only makes sense if you're on SAP EWM. Outside that context, it's not differentiated. Longbow's value proposition is essentially "SAP EWM is great at transactions but poor at operations — we fix that." Verify that SAP EWM isn't improving native analytics in a way that makes Rebus less differentiated over time.
SAP EWM customers needing operational dashboards, labor management overlay, and real-time analytics that SAP EWM alone doesn't provide.
Not a fit if you're not on SAP EWM. Also verify Longbow's roadmap vs. SAP's improving native capabilities.
Questions to ask in your RFP / demo
- How does Rebus's value compare to SAP EWM's evolving native analytics in S/4HANA?
- What is your customer base by SAP EWM version, and how do you support customers as SAP versions change?
